Bonappetit.com interviewed Patrick Dempsey about buying the Starbucks rival, Tully’s Coffee. He stated, “I wanted to bring Tully’s back to life.” It’s nice to see a person in the position to help a company they like do better. Dempsey then goes into about his 5 cups of coffee he drinks a day. A few in the morning and a few at night with almond milk or half-and-half.
Patrick Dempsey buying coffee shops and drinking coffee is cool, right? Wrong. Dempsey saying, when asked Do you ever get any sleep?
It doesn’t really affect me. Coffee is good for your mind–it’s basically a legalized drug. The next step is selling marijuana, of course.
Now, that is something great to hear from Patrick Dempsey. Could Dempsey be the first owner to bring marijuana to a mainstream coffee shop? He would definitely be making noise and fighting for marijuana legalization. Dempsey goes into the idea a little more about selling marijuana at Tully’s.
There’s a business model there. You could present it in a beautiful, elegant way: a Michelin-starred coffee shop where you can get marijuana.
