Medicated Monday: The Art Of Sending Marijuana By Mail

Sending marijuana by mail can be the easiest but one of the most stressful ways of distributing marijuana. You have to worry about only two things while sending marijuana. Getting caught is obviously the biggest threat. Breaking federal and state laws are no joke. You’ll be looking at some jail time. Unless, you’re loaded with cash and know the right lawyer. The second thing is your package getting lost. You’re out of that weed and possibly more money. When you’re package is lost, I would recommend not sending another package to that address for awhile. You never know what the authorities could be doing about it.

Once you get over the nerve racking feeling of getting caught and losing your product, that’s when you start having fun with it. If you have sent marijuana through mail then you know this feeling. Packing up freshly smelling marijuana buds to send to a friend or customer. Sending to a friends always seems more fun because one can choose a ton of nice buds for them to test. It does make it more work to send because of the way you have to package it. If you’re just sending one single strain it’ll be simpler to do. I’m going to go over a list of things you need to know to get your marijuana safely to its destination. From whom to send the package with to how to actually package it out.

A special thanks to HowToShipWeed.com for their online book called How To Ship Weed: An Insiders Guide. Also for their book to help the person I know ship marijuana. Almost everything in this article was learned from this book. You can purchase their book HERE.

postalbox

Sending marijuana saw an 84 percent increase from 2007 to 2008 and a 180 percent increase from 2008 to 2009.  43,403 lbs of marijuana was seized by inspectors at the postal service in 2009. They now have profiliers that look for suspicious packages that may contain marijuana or any controlled substance. Here are a few things not to do when sending through mail.

Package Don’ts:

1. Don’t have your seams heavily taped.

2. Do not reuse a previous package.

3. Obliviously it shouldn’t smell like marijuana.

Label Don’ts:

1. Hand writing the address.

2. Misspelled names or address.

3. False return zip code/fictitious address.

Now that you know what not to do when shipping marijuana. Here are things you need to do with you package and labels. Make sure you do all of these to your best ability. These things are the difference from your receiver smoking your weed or ending up in court.

1. Package you marijuana in a few layers of bags. The first bag should contain the marijuana. That bag should be sealed as tight as possible. Using a vacuum seal bag is recommended for this.

2. Each additional bag over the marijuana should be washed with soap and water every time after adding another bag around the marijuana. That prevents any small trace of marijuana at all.

3. Do not add masking scents. Dogs smell all scents. No scents cover up another.

4. Make sure you are using a brand new box.

5. Purchase shipping label.

6. If a return address is required. Use a business name and not an individuals name.

7. Use priority mail and pay with cash.

8. Send package via USPS.

Best to worst in shipping companies.

1. USPS

Pros: cheap, fast and no return address needed. Con: FBI Juristriction

2. UPS

Pros: Private Company. Cons: Employees steal and return address required.

3. FedEx

Pros: Private company. Cons: Employees steal a lot and return address required.

I personally only know one person that has sent marijuana through the mail. It was a success and no problems were seen. It is a very risky but fun time from what it sounds like.

Oregon State University To Offer Hemp Courses

Something very monumental is happening at Oregon State University starting this spring semester; they will be offering a course on industrial hemp. WSE 266 will be a three credit course offered by the College of Forestry’s department of wood science and engineering.

hemp1Anndrea Hermann, an instructor in the college, will be the one responsible for coordinating the class. “It’s an up and coming crop in the United States and we are going to need professionals coming out of academia who are experts in multiple areas,” Hermann declared.

The field will definitely be growing, especially with the possibility of Washington and Colorado’s new cannabis laws including the cultivation of hemp.

The proof that hemp could rectify a lot of our nation’s economic issues lies in the profit margins. The sales of hemp products surpassed $452 million last year according to the Hemp Industries Association.

The course is planned to cover the history of hemp and the political aspect of the plant. It will also look at hemp cultivation and its multitude of extraordinary uses from an industrial and commercial standpoint.

This could be the career path of the future, expressly for those individuals interested in bringing the cultivation and production of hemp back to American soil.

I don’t drink soda often. But when I do it’s always Mt. Dew. I will try this once I see it. Most likely will suck. But you never know. You can look for Kick Start in stores on February 25 in orange citrus and fruit punch flavors.

Video: Meet the Martha Stewart of Marijuana

Cheryl Shuman talks about how marijuana saved her life. She was being treated with 27 pharmaceutical drugs and a morphine pump. She described herself as “basically a vegetable”. After 90 days of using alternative treatment with cannabis oils and cannabis juices she was not only walking alone, but back to work full time. She is now working with companies that make products to treat cancer patients. Cheryl Shuman shows the audience of the Ricki Lake show the new age way of marijuana. She shows them that it’s not only a joint but oils, edibles and vaporizing with marijuana.

Cheryl had this to say about her spot on the Ricki Lake show via her facebook.

We loved the show! Ricki and her production team are amazing! Thank you so very much for allowing us to educate the public about the modern day cannabis consumer. Colorado’s First Hash Bar Coffee Shop Opens January 1st

whitehorse1On January 1, 2013 at the stroke of midnight something very magical is going to happen. No, I’m not talking about meeting that special someone at a raging New Year’s Eve bash or ringing in the New Year surrounded by loved ones, I’m referring to what is sure to be one majestic and historic event. I am talking about the grand opening of the first state legal recreational hash bar & coffee shop in the state of Colorado, The Whitehorse Inn!

The Whitehorse Inn, located in Del Norte, Colorado, will be the first state legal coffee shop of its kind in the United States. If you are anything like me, you have always imagined what it would be like to ‘smoke out’ in a coffee shop setting like those in Amsterdam and British Columbia, but to do so right here in America. Well imagine no longer my fellow tokers, because that dream has become a reality and not just for avid tokers like myself.

whitehorse2Paul Lovato is the individual responsible for making our dreams come to fruition. Fortunately for the cannabis community, Paul had a dream of his own: “I had a crazy dream, a very real, vivid and lucid dream,” Paul says, “In that dream I was serving coffee and charging people for it, but winking at them and giving them a free gram of Cannabis and saying God Bless Amendment 64. Cheesy, right…I know…but it’s true and it really happened! I woke up and saw clearly, what it was that I was going to do for the rest of my life. Unfortunately I would have to tell a woman, my wife, the love of my life, that she would have to quit her job and go on a wild ride, laced with cannabis, coffee, visits from government and law enforcement officials and possibly very famous and cool people. None of which interested her…I was banking on the famous and cool people angle, but it didn’t work. Then I passionately poured my heart out to her whitehorse3about a movement that I not only want to be a part of, but a movement that I want to be a ‘Pioneer’ in. Not many people get the chance to do something significant in their lives. This will be my first movement of significance in the life of our family.”

What a fantastic dream! And yes, Paul, this occurance carries major significance in regards to the movement and the cannabis community. This event will be a true milestone not only in the life of Paul and his family, but for the history of cannabis in America.

Paul explains his business model for us here: “The Inn will sell $10-20 cups of coffee-latte-mocha-etc., each coming with a free gram of the cannabis of your choice or a cannabis infused edible treat to anyone over the age of 21 who has a valid State ID, passport or any other valid recognizable ID from any State, land, nation or tribe…ANY! We will also offer a safe haven for medical cannabis patients from ANY state, land, nation or tribe that would like a place to stop and medicate in a clean, comfortable, cozy ‘Smokers Lounge’ or in a ‘Personal Booth’ where privacy and discretion will be of the utmost importance.”

Paul is well aware of the uncertainty that lies ahead with the newly instated cannabis laws in regards to the federal government’s possible involvement and the undetermined future regulations that will be set-up by the state. He is also aware of what will surely be an onslaught of cannabis entrepreneurs that are eager to open their own businesses. He elaborates for us here: “Of course, as the state mandated regulations come down we will adapt and change budappropriately, however this is the only way I can get this movement started and get a jump start on what will be happening on a mass statewide level in just a very short time.”

The team here @ HMJ is ecstatic with Paul’s business endeavor and can’t wait to stop in and have a half dozen latte’s or so. We can only speculate how big the crowd will be for opening night, but I’m sure Paul will be pleased with the turnout. And I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before the celebrity toker circle gets a ‘whiff’ of the Whitehorse. If you live in Colorado make your way over to the grand opening of the very first state legal hash bar and coffee shop in the whole United States! Good luck and rock on, Paul, we here @ HMJ support your valiant efforts all the way!

The Permits Have Been Approved for Medical Cannabis Lobby Day

It’s official! The Madison Norml board members have announced that the Wisconsin State Capitol Police have approved the necessary permits for Medical Cannabis Lobby Day! The event will be held on Wednesday, January 16th, 2013 at the Wisconsin State Capitol and will run from 10am to 4:30 pm. Members from the Wisconsin and Madison’s Norml chapters and the organization Is My Medicine Legal Yet (IMMLY), will have a fully staffed information table set up in the rotunda of the capitol building. They will be there to inform interested individuals of how to go about making contact with their state representatives.

This is an amazing occasion to voice your opinion on citizen’s rights and the freedom to use cannabis. If you are knowledgeable on the science of cannabis and have sound reasoning why it should be legalized and you are a Wisconsin resident, do the rest of the cannabis nation a solid and take advantage of this opportunity. Thanks to all the organizations involved for systematizing this event. They are anticipating a fantastic turnout and notable results. Rock on, Wisconsin! We here @ HMJ support your valiant efforts all the way! Legalize!
